Another brilliant day out for our families and volunteers. Animal, sun and ice cream. What more can you ask for.
We had a brilliant day at National playday in Queens Garden's on Wednesday 1st August.
The theme this year was 'Circus' to celebrate 170 years.
Colouring, playdough, finger painting and plasticine were thoroughly enjoyed by all the children who came to the stand.
We are so happy and grateful to the fabulous staff and customers of Sainsbury's Greenwood Avenue in North Hull for making us their charity of the year.
Keep an eye out for all the brilliant things we'll be doing at the store to help raise money for our families.
Here at Home-Start, we got involved with Child Safety week. We invited our Volunteers and Families to our event where they could learn about how to keep their children safe and pick up some freebies.
A lovely time was had by everyone who attended.
Lots of fun was had in the sun with our families bringing a picnic and their teddy bears into Trinity Square for a couple of hours. Both parents and children enjoyed being outside in the fresh air and spending time playing and chatting.
One of our supported mums has spoken out about her struggle with her own mental health in a Hull Daily Mail article.
She has been really brave but wants others to know that there's no shame in asking for help. We are very lucky to have her joining us on the volunteer training course in September as her own volunteer support comes to an end.
What an inspiration!
